This is a compilation of information on these design elements to be informative to the ACC specialists approving applications for these elements. This works in concert with the other materials and the Residential Improvement Guidelines.
ANY EXTERIOR CHANGE IS SUBJECT TO ACC APPROVAL, regardless of the below.
Decks
Decks shall be built so as to not obstruct a view or create unreasonable noise for adjacent residences.
Wood decks must be stained. The balusters must be vertical and must match handrail, or vertical black wrought iron. Balusters should be 2-inch square and straight without twists, curves or designs.
The ACC also allows manmade composite material. The decking should look natural and be complementary to the home. With Trex and other companies, the ACC approves appropriate handrail either with a curved top or flat top.
The ACC approves simple handrails without additional design elements such as decorative finials or double handrails. Any balusters must be vertical; horizontal is not approved.
The ACC does not approve plastic/vinyl. No metal brackets in view.
Backyard Patios
This is an area to use your best judgment. Materials should be natural or natural looking. The patios should be appropriate for the space. No metal brackets in view.
Sliding Patio Doors must be white on the exterior.
The ACC approves fire pits, fire plates, fireplaces.
The ACC approves wood fencing for privacy. No lattice.
